Common Mistakes in Insect Prevention in Business Premises

Pest prevention is essential for maintaining hygiene standards in all types of business environments — from restaurants and warehouses to offices. However, many facilities make common mistakes that reduce the effectiveness of insect control and lead to recurring infestations.

One of the most frequent errors is improper placement of UV insect lamps. If devices are installed too close to windows, doors, or light sources, their efficiency decreases. UV lamps should be placed in darker areas, about two meters high, away from air currents and direct sunlight.

Another common mistake is neglecting regular maintenance. Glue boards and UV tubes have a limited lifespan and should be replaced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Failing to do so reduces light intensity and overall device efficiency.

A third mistake is relying solely on equipment without maintaining proper hygiene. Insects are attracted to moisture, food residues, and organic waste. Without regular cleaning and sealing of cracks, no control system can be fully effective.

Proper insect prevention requires a combination of technology and maintenance. Regular inspections, strategic device placement, and consistent hygiene practices are the best ways to keep business spaces safe, compliant, and spotless.
